Paris based African designer Label Adama Paris recently introduced us to their swimwear line modeled by contestants of Miss Black France 2012. These collection was shot by Mario Epanya and features a range of Afro inspired bikinis and beach wears. Although I am not sure about the feasibility of the fabric when it comes to actual swimming, The collection is tres tres chic and summer friendly!. And I will pair these pieces with a sheer dress/shorts and sandals for a day out on the beach.  Creative Director of Adama Paris, Adama Ndiaye reveals the inspiration behind the swimwear line saying
"The inspiration of this collection was sensuality and womanity. I wanted to create something that would appeal to different women and make them feel womanly and sexy too”.

MENANYE DONKOR COVERS NEW AFRICAN WOMAN. READERS FEEL IT'S NOT "AFRICAN" ENOUGH

Milan Based Ghanaian Model and philanthropist Menaye Donkor graces the cover of New African Woman Magazine's April/May Cover. She looks Stunning in a sparkling piece and that ring on her finger is to die for. However, Some of the Magazine's readers feel that Menaye does not embody an "African" Woman on the cover and doesn't deserve to be on it. Here is a message from one of the readers said to be an Editor to Regina of New African Woman
“Hello Regina …to tell u the truth …it (the cover) is not representative to black beauty African beauty, the major criticism we have is that the girl don t look like black African girls too perfect and white, I FIND IT not very nice… putting perfect looking girls in front of covers!”

I find it hard to believe that this woman is the editor of a magazine, firstly, she needs to learn how to make a point without sounding confused. Secondly, her statement made no sense, What is She trying to say? African girls can't be perfect? Finally, I'm going to need her and other self righteous "Africans" to stop trying to define what an African Woman should look like.
Menaye Donkor is a stunning Ghanaian Woman/Model and can be on as many Magazine covers as she likes, African or not. Here is what the model had to say.

“I am surprised to hear such ignorant remarks in this modern world that we live in. I thought people were much more educated and not so shallow minded to generalize and make such comments. My question then sums up to: What African is? And How an African should look? I am a true African woman born and raised in Ghana by Ghanaian parents and amazing Ghanaian heritage. I therefore cannot understand why the colour of my skin would make me less of a good role model for other African women. It doesn’t matter how dark or light my skin is, I’m proud of my culture and I am proud to be representing Africa.  Are we forgetting there are 54 countries in Africa and not all the people are dark skinned as it varies across the continent with some populations naturally darker than others? The focus here should not be the colour of one’s skin or how they look but rather how we as Africans can unite to build a stronger future for our children.”

What do you think?

WHILE I WAS GONE......

I am back peepoz!!! Spring break was fun and my internet hiatus is over. I opened my browser this evening to check my mail and I see that a lot of things went down in the fashion world while I was gone. And yeah! I finally got the River Island high top sneakers I was craving (yay me!). So during my short break, porn stars decided to take over the fashion news as pictures of Marc Jacobs and his rumored porn star boyfriend Harry Louise went viral
And also ex porn star ( I think) turned actress (entourage?) Sasha Grey gets a fashion spread in Interview Magazine (Germany) and was shot by Sean and Seng.

In blogger controversy news, fashion blogger Jane Aldridge of Sea of shoes is making news in the blogosphere due to a profile about her on Texas monthly written by Jason Sheeler. You can read all about it HERE
In much more serious fashion news, according to WWD, Dior has confirmed Raf Simons as the new creative director.. how exciting/interesting! We are going to miss John Galliano.
In less serious fashion news (depending on a lot of things) Karl Lagerfeld gifts Adele with Chanel bags as a way of saying he is sorry for calling her "Fat", therefore no one is allowed to call me fat unless I'll be getting designer goodies. In more Lagerfeld news, Mr Superkarlifagilistic will be  designing a limited edition VIP helicopter for AgustaWestland, That would be some chic helicopters!!.
Fashion bible Vogue didn't get a nomination for the National magazines awards. Ouch!

That sums it all up for now!! I will be bringing you more fashion news later. Since I am not the creative director of a fashion house (yet!) I can't apologize for my absence with designer goods, so instead I am going to leave you the link to this VIDEO of a guy reviewing Kanye West's Theraflu. This is the best Review ever! Thank me later!!

KISSES BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!!!
