Jean Gaultier amped up his tough-girl outlook with altogether luxe add-ons and with a surprisingly ladylike polish. Think slick metallic accents, velvet gowns, ultra-tailored suits in even more exotic snakeskin iterations, colorful fur stoles and capes, and voluminous cinching.

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD PARIS FASHION WEEK 2012

If not for Vivienne Westwood, rocker chicks would have nothing to wear — and for Autumn/Winter 2012, Westwood gives them plenty in the form of tulle, tartan, and tee-shirts. Westwood always has a knack for wonderfully peculiar tailoring, in this case it's seen on sharp, angular blazers that look like origami structures and gigantic silhouettes, which for next Winter are layered and oversized. I love the fact that Vivienne doesn't conform and that is what makes her so great!
